A four-year letterman in both gymnastics and football between 1963 and 1967. A member of the 1966 conference championship team and an all-conference linebacker. Was a member of the first Stout gymnastics squad. Placed 12th in trampoline at the 1965 NAIA championships. High school gymnastics coaching record at Niles Township (Illinois) for seven seasons was 124-4 including six conference titles.
