This Week in Blue Devils Athletics: Oct. 24

Six UW-Stout teams will be in action this week, with Volleyball, Soccer and Football having home contests. 

SOCCER

Stout is currently 2-12-3 (1-4-1) and will close out the regular season this Saturday. Julie McNamar and Lily Shield have split time in the net. McNamar has both wins for Stout and 1.96 goals against average and .738 save percentage. Shield and has a .759 save percentage and recorded her first collegiate shutout in a 0-0 draw against Luther. On the offensive side of the ball, Caylee Boone (five goals and an assist) leads the team in scoring. Marissa Steele has two goals and two assists. Liv Winkler has scored two goals. Kennedy Beld, Ella Kemp, Kate Holst and Lauren Chukel are the other Blue Devils who have found the back of the net. Stout has attempted 178 shots with 86 on goal. VOLLEYBALL

The Blue Devils are 11-15, 1-5 on the season. Stout is averaging 11.2 kills and 2.0 aces a set. The Blue Devils as a team are hitting .172 as a team. Sidney Hoverman is currently second in the WIAC in kills, averaging 3.85 kills a set, while Caroline Braun is averaging 2.07. Kennedy Barrett is averaging 8.6 assists a set and 37 aces. Terrah Moshier and Staci Meyer are both averaging over 3.2 digs a set. Freshman Maja Anderson has stopped up on the serve with 31 service aces and averaging 0.40, good for ninth in the WIAC. |  2022 Statistics

HOCKEY

The Blue Devils opened the 2022-23 season with a couple of exhibition games last weekend against Saint Mary's (Minn.) and Bethel University.
Head Coach Mike MacDonald's squad returns 21 letter winners from last year's team. Including all conference selections Dylan Rallis and Tyler Masternak, with a mix of seven incoming freshman. The Blue Devils were picked to finish fifth in the preseason coaches poll.

FOOTBALL

The Blue Devils is coming off a tough 19-14 loss on the road at No. 24 UW-Oshkosh. The Blue Devils dominated in nearly every aspect of the game. Out gaining the Titans in total yards (408-351), running 33 more plays (79-46), first downs (26-15) and doubling up the Titans in time of possession (40:30 -19:30). But big plays propelled Oshkosh to the win, scoring touchdowns of 49 and 79 yards and the long 94 yard kick return. Stout quarterback Sean Borgerding threw for 239 yards moved him to first all-time in career passing yards with 8,987. He is also the school record holder in most completions with 669.  Stout will face their second straight nationally ranked opponent in UW-Platteville (4-3, 3-1 WIAC)  Platteville leads the all time series 40-23-1 and has won 9 of the last ten games.

The Blue Devils Overwatch season continues on  Tuesday and Thursday when they play Northeastern University and UW-Eau Claire.

HOME EVENT PARKING INFO: Parking on the UW-Stout campus is restricted during the business week. For games in Johnson Fieldhouse and Nelson Field during the week, please plan to park in Lot 29. Do not park in Lot 4, which is a reserved lot for students that live in the residence halls.
