This Week in Blue Devils Athletics: April 27-May 3

THIS WEEK IN BLUE DEVIL ATHLETICS: April 27 - May 3

SOFTBALL

The Blue Devils went 4-4 last week, splitting home series with River Falls and Platteville, sweeping Whitewater for the first time in program history, and dropping two close games to #16 Oshkosh.

Sarah Wilkins pitched 35.0 innings over five appearances with a 0.40 ERA, going 3-0. She allowed just 3 runs (two earned) while striking out 32 and allowing only four extra-base hits. At #16 Oshkosh, she pitched 12 scoreless innings, striking out 10.

The Blue Devils will wrap up WIAC play this week, traveling to Eau Claire for two games against the Blugolds on Tuesday, April 29, and closing the regular season on Saturday, May 2, at home againstainst UW-La Crosse.

BASEBALL

The Blue Devil baseball team split a doubleheader at River Falls and dropped a four-game series at Oshkosh over the weekend. 

This week, the Blue Devils will wrap up the 2026 season with a four-game series at UW-Whitewater on Friday and Saturday, May 1-2.

TENNIS

 The Blue Devils will wrap up the 2025-26 season on Tuesday, April 28, when they travel to St. Paul, Minnesota, to face the University of Northwestern at 6:30 p.m.

TRACK & FIELD

The University of Wisconsin-Stout men's and women's track and field teams had a strong showing at the Dick & Mary Johnson Invitational, hosted by UW-Eau Claire on Saturday at Simpson Field. A group of student-athletes also competed at the Drake Relays.

The Blue Devils were particularly strong in field events, sweeping the top three spots in the pole vault. Leah Zastrow won with a clearance of 3.97 meters (13-0.25), Raegan Sorensen was second at 3.82 meters (12-6.25), and Mack Champion finished third at 3.52 meters (11-6.50).

UW-Stout will compete in the WIAC Championships in La Crosse, Wis., May 1-2.

MEN'S GOLF

The UW-Stout men's golf team finished tied for seventh at the Saint John's Spring Invitational, with a two-day total of 590 (+18) at Wapicada Golf Club and Monticello Country Club. Cameron Lipinski tied for fourth overall with a two-round score of 141. 

The team will next compete at the WIAC Triangular in Nekoosa, Wis. at the Lake Arrowhead Pines and Lakes Course on April 29-30 and will close the 2026 season at the Edgewood University Spring Quadrangular in Middleton, Wis. on May 1.

WOMEN'S GOLF

The University of Wisconsin-Stout women's golf team delivered a strong performance at the Wartburg Spring Invitational, clinching a second-place finish in a 10-team field at the Prairie Links Golf & Events Center. 

 Ashleigh Johnson, who surged up the leaderboard during the final round to finish in a tie for sixth place with a total of 150. Brin Neumann also secured a top-ten finish, placing tied for eighth with a consistent two-day total of 151 following rounds of 75 and 76.

UW-Stout will be back in action on Sunday, May 3, when they host the UW-Stout Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Coursee, Wis., May 1-2.
