MENOMONIE – The UW-Stout women's golf team delivered a strong performance on its home course, capturing the team title at the UW-Stout Spring Invite Sunday at Tanglewood Greens.
The Blue Devils posted a team score of 313 (+29), finishing 13 strokes ahead of runner-up UW-Eau Claire (326). UW-La Crosse placed third with a 332, followed by UW-River Falls (335) and UW-Stevens Point (348)
UW-Stout was paced by a dominant showing at the top of the leaderboard. Julia Imai earned medalist honors after firing a 4-over par 75, leading a group of four Blue Devils who finished inside the top five.
Brin Neumann secured a runner-up finish with a 78 (+7), while Ashleigh Johnson and Sarah Chaffee each carded rounds of 80 (+9) to tie for fourth overall. Hallie Tulip rounded out the team scoring with an 82 (+11), placing tied for 12th.
Competing as individuals, Avery Meyer led the Stout contingent with an 86 (+15), tying for 17th. Peyton Zipperer followed closely with an 87 (+16), while Annika Bilau (91) and Kaitlyn Bohl (92) also competed for the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils will compete next at the NCAA Championship, taking place on Tuesday, May 19, at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California.
