PALM DESERT, Calif. – The University of Wisconsin–Stout women's golf team closed out the 2026 season with a 21st-place finish at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at Desert Willow Golf Resort. Making just the fourth national championship appearance in program history, the Blue Devils posted a two-round total of 630 (+42) to finish 21st in the 34-team field.
UW-Stout bounced back from an opening-round 327 on the Firecliff Course with a strong second-round score of 303 on the Mountain View Course. The Blue Devils climbed eight spots in the standings after sitting 29th following the opening round and narrowly missed advancing past the 36-hole team cut.
Julia Imai paced the Blue Devils, finishing tied for 39th individually with a two-round total of 150 (+6) after rounds of 77 and 73. Imai entered the final holes of the second round within the cut line for the individual championship before narrowly missing advancement to the final rounds. In her second round, Imai played even par on 11 holes and recorded three birdies.
Brin Neumann delivered one of the team's biggest improvements of the tournament, rebounding from an opening-round 84 to fire a second-round 74 and finish at +14 overall.
Sarah Chaffee also made a significant move on day two, following an opening-round 85 with a 75 to finish at +16.
Ashleigh Johnson turned in a steady performance throughout the championship, carding matching rounds of 81 to finish at +18 overall.
Hallie Tulip completed the tournament with rounds of 87 and 90, finishing at +33 overall.
