WAVERLY, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Stout women's golf team delivered a strong performance at the Wartburg Spring Invitational, clinching a second-place finish in a 10-team field at the Prairie Links Golf & Events Center.
The Blue Devils carded a two-round total of +33, placing them just behind tournament champion Grinnell College.
The team's effort was led by
Ashleigh Johnson, who surged up the leaderboard during the final round. After opening with a 78, Johnson fired an even-par 72 in round two—the lowest score of the day for the Blue Devils—to finish in a tie for sixth place with a total of 150.
Brin Neumann also secured a top-ten finish, placing tied for eighth with a consistent two-day total of 151 following rounds of 75 and 76.
The scoring was further bolstered by
Julia Imai and
Sarah Chaffee, who both finished in a tie for 11th place with identical totals of 154.
Hallie Tulip rounded out the team's varsity lineup, finishing in a tie for 32nd with a 162.
Several Blue Devils also competed as individuals, highlighted by
Kaitlyn Bohl, who took 35th place with a 163.
Annika Bilau and
Avery Meyer both finished in a tie for 40th, each carding a two-day total of 166.
UW-Stout will be back in action on Sunday, May 3, when they host the UW-Stout Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Course
