Zastrow, Sorensen Earn All-America Honors in Pole Vault on Day One of NCAA Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin–Stout women's track and field team opened competition at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a pair of All-American performances Thursday as Leah Zastrow and Raegan Sorensen earned national honors in the women's pole vault.

Zastrow, the reigning NCAA Division III indoor pole vault national champion, placed third in a highly competitive event that saw five of the top six finishers clear personal-best heights.

The senior cleared 3.75 meters on her second attempt before sailing over 3.85 meters, 3.95 meters, and 4.00 meters (13-1.5) on her first tries. Zastrow narrowly missed at 4.05 meters and elected to pass to 4.10 meters, where she again clipped the bar on her attempt. She finished by taking an attempt at a school-record 4.15 meters before securing third place and first-team All-American honors.

Sorensen earned All-America recognition with a seventh-place finish, clearing 3.95 meters on her third attempt. The senior made three strong attempts at 4.00 meters, narrowly missing the bar each time as she claimed first-team All-America honors.

Freshman Ava Mack competed in the discus throw and finished 20th overall. Mack was consistent throughout the competition, posting marks of 39.92 meters, 39.77 meters, and a top throw of 40.00 meters (131-3).
