ARDEN HILLS, Minn. / PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Stout men's and women's track and field teams split squads this weekend, setting a school record at the UW-Platteville Invitational and a series of dominant efforts at the Gene Glader Invitational hosted by Bethel University.
In Platteville,
Claudia Lasiowski provided the highlight of the weekend in the 5000m. She crossed the finish line in 16:57.43, finishing 12th overall and breaking the previous UW-Stout school record of 16:59.87 set by
Mckayla Felton in 2024.
Clare Yunk placed 10th in the women's 3000m steeplechase (13:14.29), while in the 800m,
Alexys Smith (2:26.98) and
Jorie Anderson (2:27.19) finished back-to-back, with
Addie Christopherson running a 2:31.27.
In the 1500m,
Emily Fisher posted a time of 5:30.40.
On the men's side,
Silas Green led a tightly packed 800m group, placing 12th (1:56.68), followed by Walter Straight (1:58.06), Josh Elerman (1:58.32),
Nick Schulte (1:58.89), and
Yahye Mohamed (1:59.40).
In the 1500m, Joe Huber placed 14th (4:04.35), with
Westin Fisher (4:11.05),
August Arnold (4:11.12),
Peter Cimino (4:17.49),
Mateo Meza-Melendez (4:26.77), and
Aidan Apa (4:33.34) rounding out the Stout competitors.
At Bethel, the Blue Devil men were headlined by Malachy Driscoll, who posted a monster performance in the 110m hurdles. Driscoll clocked a 14.46 (third fastest in school history) in the prelims—a personal best that moves him to #12 in NCAA Division III—before winning the event final in 14.67.
In the field,
Sam Knox climbed the national leaderboard in the pole vault. Knox cleared 5.01m (16-05.25) to win the event, moving to #5 in Division III.
Braden Krystosek joined the national conversation as well, finishing 8th with a season-best clearance of 4.81m (#24 DIII).
Noah Flood Elyafi: Placed 3rd in both the long jump (6.80m, #61 DIII) and triple jump (13.88m, #45 DIII).
Matthew Binstock: Finished 2nd in the high jump (1.91m) and 5th in the triple jump (1.61m, #75 DIII).
Throws:
Jacob Dietel and
John Baker went 6th and 7th in the shot put, both landing marks over 15.20m to move into the national top 60.
The Stout women's 4x100m relay team of Corina Tvedt,
Lilly Gamache,
Esme Irel, and
Makayla Durango put together a standout performance, finishing 3rd in 48.54. This season-best time currently ranks them #50 in the nation.
Ava Mack: The freshman impressed in the throws, taking 2nd in the discus (41.21m, #44 DIII) and 3rd in the hammer throw (45.90m, #84 DIII).
Raegan Sorensen secured a victory in the pole vault with a height of 3.85m (12-07.50).
Lincoln Wellsmith won the shot put with a mark of 12.70m, #39 in Division III.
Lilly Roberts: Finished 5th in the 100m hurdles prelims (15.45, #91 DIII) and was among the top finishers in the 400m hurdles.
