Zastrow Sets School Record at Caged Eagle Invite

LA CROSSE (Feb. 20, 2026) – The UW-Stout men's and women's track & field teams competed Friday at the UW–La Crosse Caged Eagle Invite, highlighted by a school-record performance from Leah Zastrow and multiple top finishes.

Women's Events
Pole Vault
Senior Leah Zastrow set a UW-Stout school record, clearing 4.13 meters (13-6.5) to win the event and establish a new facility best. Raegan Sorensen followed with a third-place finish at 3.93m (12-10.75), while Mack Champion placed 10th at 3.38m (11-1).

Triple Jump
Sophomore Isabelle Jaenicke led the Blue Devils with a third-place finish, recording a mark of 10.77m (35-4).

Long Jump
Becca Hansen placed sixth with a mark of 5.05 meters (16-7).

Shot Put
Senior Lincoln Wellsmith paced UW-Stout with a fifth-place throw of 12.69m (41-7.75). Freshman Catherine Fank placed ninth at 12.13m (39-9.75), followed by Grace Schmidt in 18th with a throw of11.39 meters.

Weight Throw
Grace Schmidt placed ninth with a throw of 14.56 meters.

400 Meter Dash
Corrina Tvedt finished second overall with a time of 59.58. Freshman Ava Budworth ran 1:01.60, and junior Megan Liebers posted 1:01.72.

3000 Meter Run
Charli Oeltjen led Stout with a time of 11:04.53.Teagan McGinty followed in 11:29.27, while Madison Jacklitch crossed in 11:37.73.
 
Men's Events
Pole Vault
Junior Braden Krystosek placed second overall, clearing 4.94m (16-2.5). Sam Knox finished fourth at 4.79m (15-8.5), while Josh Boyette placed 10th with a mark of 4.49m (14-8.75).

High Jump
Senior Matthew Binstock recorded a third-place finish after clearing 2.00m (6-6.75). Senior Noah Flood Elyafi followed closely in fourth at 1.95m (6-4.75).

Shot Put
Karter Rashke took second with throw of 17.58 meters.

Long Jump
Braedon Pederson took fifth with jump of 6.55 meters. Kolvin Mayer was sixth with a jump of 6.48 meters.

Triple Jump
Patrik Dortch placed second with mark of 14.38 meters. Noah Flood Elyafi was sixth with a mark of 13.53 meters and Kolvin Mayer was seventh with a jump of 13.53 meters.

3000 Meter Run
Junior Mason Aide led UW-Stout with a fourth-place finish in 8:43.27. Junior Julian Van Antwerp finished eighth in 8:49.70, followed by Alexander Burmeister in 8:56.40.

400 Meter Dash
Freshman Nolyn Lindner posted a third-place time of 50.22. Freshman Conner Blade finished seventh in 50.51, while junior Logan Scott ran 51.99.

800 Meter Run
Senior Silas Green led the Blue Devils with a time of 1:56.64. Freshman Walter Strait followed at 1:57.14, and Yahye Mohamed clocked 1:58.60.

60 Meter Hurdles
Malachy Driscoll placed third with a time of 8.29 seconds.
 
The Blue Devils will be back in action next weekend, Feb. 27-28, when they travel to Platteville, Wis. to compete at the WIAC Championships
