MADISON, Wis. – The UW-Stout women's golf team posted a strong second-place finish at the UW-Whitewater Fall Invite, held at the challenging TPC Wisconsin course (5,680 yards, par 72). The Blue Devils carded a two-round total of 635 (312-323), trailing only the No. 4-ranked Pomona-Pitzer team (585) while besting No. 12 Illinois Wesleyan (647) and finishing ahead of all other WIAC competitors in the 17-team field.
Leading the way for the Blue Devils was
Julia Imai, who placed seventh overall with a 155 (76-79, +11).
Ashleigh Johnson followed closely in a tie for ninth at 157 (77-80, +13).
Brin Neumann contributed a 162 (82-80, +18) to tie for 19th, while
Hallie Tulip posted a 163 (77-86, +19) to tie for 20th.
Sarah Chaffee rounded out the team scoring with a 168 (84-84, +24), tying for 29th. Competing as an individual,
Kaitlyn Bohl finished with a 177 (89-88, +33), tying for 65th.
Stout will compete next weekend at the WIAC Championship held Oct. 3-5 at the Reedsburg Country Club in Reedsburg, Wis.
