Reedsburg, Wis. – October 5, 2025 – The UW-Stout women's golf team dominated from start to finish at the WIAC Championship, capturing the program's first conference title since 2016 and fourth overall. The Blue Devils rolled to a commanding 48-stroke victory, the second-largest margin in tournament history, finishing with a 54-hole tournament with a 304-311-320-935 (+71).
Julia Imai repeated as the individual champion with a three-round score of 230 (74-77-79) to finish +14 on the par-72 5,709 yard Reedsburg Country Club Course. Teammate
Brin Neumann took second place with a 233 (78-75-80) finishing three strokes back.
The Blue Devils' depth was on full display, with all five players finishing in the top nine.
Ashleigh Johnson and
Hallie Tulip tied for fifth at 239 (+23), while
Sarah Chaffee placed ninth with a 77-83-82-242 (+26) helping solidify UW-Stout's grip on the leaderboard.
"We did a terrific job of focusing on us, and what we needed to accomplish to be successful." UW-Stout Director of Golf Andrew DeLong said.
Playing Individually,
Kaitlyn Bohl tied for 11th with a 245 (+29).
Liz Rohl shot a 86-84-85- 255 to tie for 32
nd.
Andrea Smith tied for 35th (81-85-91- 257).
Cassie Santelman (86-87-86-259) tied for 39
th.
Avery Meyer tied for 47th (85-89-91- 265). Payton Zipperer(91-91-99- 281) was 66
th and
Annika Bilau (83-94-106- 283_ tied for 67
th.
"I'm very proud of how we handled ourselves this weekend," head coach
Sophia Connett said. "We went in with a clear goal in mind and were able to focus on the process rather than get ahead of ourselves. We performed as a team this weekend and completed our goal."
Sophia Connett was named WIAC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season, after guiding the Blue Devils to another standout campaign and the program's first conference crown in nine years.
With the win, Stout claims the WIAC automatic bid to the NCAA DIII National Championship held in Palm Desert, Calif. May 19-22, 2026.
The Blue Devils will close out the fall season at the Golfweek October Classic, Oct. 12-14 in Destin, Fla. At the Links Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
