UW-Stout Athletic Communications Receive CSC Honors

ORLANDO, Fla. – University of Wisconsin-Stout Athletics was recognized for it outstanding creative and digital content earning five awards in the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Creative & Digital Design Contest.

The 2024-25 contest set records for the second year in a row with a 33.5% participation increase from the previous year and tallying 2,160 total entries, including 930 entries from the University Division and 1,230 entries from the College Division which included all non-NCAA DI entries. In the College Division, "Best Of" honors was awarded to the top finishers from each subdivision.

Led by Director of Athletic Communications Casey Parrott and supported by talented students Graham Langkamp, Noah Albricht, Ava Williams, Parker Nerby, and Drew Pingel, UW-Stout excelled in the College Division, including nine Citations for Excellence in Creative & Digital Design, with one Best in the Nation honor

UW-Stout student graphic designer Graham Langkamp placed fourth overall in the College Division and second in Division III in the Designer of the Year (Portfolio) category. Langkamp oversees all football graphics and manages the team's social media, significantly boosting views and engagement over the past year. His creative portfolio has elevated UW-Stout's visual identity, showcasing innovative design work.

Student photographers and videographers Ava Williams, Parker Nerby and Drew Pingel collaborated on the women's gymnastics hype video that was played before home meets this past season enhancing the game-day atmosphere. Their video was third overall in the College Division and named Best of NCAA Division III in the Hype/Pre-Game Videos category.

Senior graphic designer and photographer Noah Albricht designed the 2024 football schedule poster which placed 18th in the College Division in the Poster contest. That poster template was used throughout the 2024-25 season and reinforced the Blue Devils' brand consistency and visual appeal.

Director of Athletic Communications Casey Parrott won Best in the Nation in the College Division for his football gameday program. He designed a program blending innovative visuals and compelling content to elevate the fan experience engaging audiences with vivid, impactful content.Parrott also produced game notes during the women's basketball teams run the NCAA Division III Final Four. His notes placed sixth in the nation in the college division and third in Division III offering valuable insights for fans and media.
 
"Our department relies on student workers to produce most of the content that Blue Devil fans consume either on social media or the in-arena experience," Parrott said. "I'm glad they are recognized for their hard work behind the scenes. We truly have some of the best in not only the WIAC but the nation."

More than 250 institutions and conference offices were among the participants this year, with more than 650 total individuals having been named on an entry. A total of 435 places were recognized in the overall contest results while 307 entries garnered "Best Of" honors for each level in the College Division. 930 entries made up the 17 contests in the University Division composed exclusively of Division I institutions. The College Division was headlined by Division II with 571 total entries followed by Division II with 447, the NAIA with 170, Canadian Institutions with 17, two-year colleges with 16 and high schools with nine.

A total of nine contest categories saw increased participation year over year, while the Portfolio Contests saw an enormous increase with 173 total entries along with the addition of two more contests. Over the last two editions of the contest, participation has skyrocketed more than 125% overall from 957 entries in 2023-24.
