GENEVA, Ohio – Leah Zastrow opened day one of the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a third-place finish in the women's pole vault to earn All-American Honors.
Zastrow, the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor track and field pole vault runner up, placed third in the women's outdoor pole vault that was held indoors due to weather. She put up a personal best and second-best vault in school history of 4.00 meters (13' 1 1.5").
She cleared her first three bars (3.60m, 3.75m , 3.85m) with ease on her first attempts. Her clear of 3.85 matched her season outdoor best. She missed her first attempt at 3.95m and cleared on the second attempt, one of just four others in the 22-person field to clear the mark. She cleared her second attempt at 4.00 meters to become the second Blue Devil to clear 13 feet, missing the school mark by ¾ of an inch.
Jack Roeber competed in the rain in the long jump, placing 14
th overall with a 6.95 meter (22' 10") jump on his first attempt. He will compete in the triple jump at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 24.
Raegan Sorensen placed 22
nd in the women's javelin with a throw of 34.07 meters (111' 9"). Her first two throws were nearly identical, falling an inch apart. Her first attempt was 34.05 meters and her second attempt was 34.07 meters.
Five more Blue Devils will compete in four events tomorrow at day two of the NCAA Championships.
