WAVERLY, Iowa – The UW-Stout women's golf team competed at the Wartburg Spring Invite on April 4-5, 2025, finishing 9th out of 16 teams at Prairie Links Golf Course. The par-72, 5667-yard layout challenged the field over two days, with the Blue Devils posting a team total of 638 (+62) across rounds of 303 and 335.
Leading the way for UW-Stout was freshman
Julia Imai, who finished tied for 28th with a two-day total of 157 (+13). Imai carded a 77 in the opening round and followed with an 80 in the final round, showcasing consistency in a competitive field.
Sydney Grimm also cracked the top 40, tying for 35th with a 159 (+15) after rounds of 78 and 81.
Other notable performances included
Abby Terada, who tied for 44th with a 161 (+17), highlighted by a strong 71 in the first round before closing with a 90.
Brin Neumann placed 52nd with a 164 (+20) after rounds of 77 and 87, while
Hallie Tulip tied for 61st with a 169 (+25) on scores of 82 and 87. Avey Meyer rounded out the Blue Devils' lineup, tying for 69th with a 172 (+28) after posting 84 and 88.
Illinois Wesleyan claimed the team title with a 587 (+11), edging out St. Catherine University by seven strokes. Individually, Grace Petzold of St. Catherine University took medalist honors with a 143 (-1), the only player to finish under par.
The Blue Devils will look to build on this performance at their next event on Saturday and Sunday April 12-13 in Normal, Ill. at the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling.
