Women Second, Men Fourth at Phil Esten Challenge

LA CROSSE – The UW-Stout men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Phil Esten Challenge. The women's team placed second of 23 teams and the men finished fourth of 24 teams.
 
Hannah Zastrow (1st in 100m hurdles, 3rd in high jump), Lilly Roberts (1st in 400m hurdles, 3rd in 100m hurdles), Jenna Driscoll (1st in long jump), and Raegan Sorensen (1st in javelin) led with event wins. Jack Roeber (1st in long jump), Karter Rashke (2nd in shot put), and Jesse Fowler (2nd in hammer) were top performers in the men's events.
 
Track Events

• 100m: Makayla Durango and Lilly Gamache placed fourth (12.37 seconds) and fifth (12.44 seconds).
• 400m: Corrina Tvedt finished fourth with a time of59.60 seconds.
• 10,000m: Mckayla Felton earned second with a time of 36:25.00.
• 100m Hurdles: Hannah Zastrow won with a time of 14.19 seconds. Lilly Roberts was third in14.59.
• 110m Hurdles: Kaden Martin took second in14.43 seconds. Thomas Casey placed third in14.61.
• 400m Hurdles: Lilly Roberts won with a time of 1:03.53. Kaylie Raths was third (1:04.61). In the men's race, Nolan Zachgo finished fourth with a time of 56.22 seconds.  
• 3000m Steeplechase: Brekkyn Lammert took third with a time of 11:17.19.
• 4x100 Relay: The team of Jenna Driscoll, Lilly Gamache, Esme Irel, Hannah Zastrow finished second with a time of 48.12 seconds.

Field Events

• High Jump: Hannah Zastrow placed third, clearing 1.61 meters. In the men's event, Lawson Davis and Matthew Binstock each cleared 1.86 meters
• Pole Vault: Leah Zastrow was fourth with a vault of 3.67 meters. In the men's vault, Braden Krystosek and Sam Knox both cleared 4.72 meters.
• Long Jump: Jenna Driscoll won with a jump of 5.47 meters. Jack Roeber won the men's event with a 7.10-meter jump.
• Triple Jump: Isabelle Jaenicke placed fourth with a mark of 10.82 meters.
• Discus: Brooke Baumann took second (40.14 meters), and Aubree Koenings was third (40.11 meters).
• Hammer: Sam Leoni was fifth with a throw of 46.12 meters.
• Javelin: Raegan Sorensen won with a throw of 39.80 meters. In the men's event, Braden Krystosek took third (48.32meters), and Marcus Bohl Mantilla was fourth 47.36 meters.
• Shot Put: Karter Rashke took second with a throw of 16.95 meters.
• Discus: Marcus Bohl Mantilla finished fifth with a toss of 45.87 meters.
• Hammer: Jesse Fowler placed second with a throw of 55.04 meters.

Multi-Events

• Decathlon: Josh Boyette placed fifth with 5758 points.

 
The Blue Devils will compete in two meets next weekend. Competing at the drake relays April 25-26 in Des Moines, Iowa and the Dick & Mary Johnson Invite in Eau Claire, Wis. on Saturday, April 26.
