PRESCOTT, Wis. – The UW-Stout Women's Golf Team opened the 2024 season with a 21-stroke win at the Falcon Invite. The Blue Devils took the top-three individual finishes to sweep the podium.
The Blue Devils shot a 312-321 for a two-day score of 633 to win the event by 21 strokes over UW-La Crosse, who finished in second. Stout swept the podium with
Julia Imai winning,
Sydney Grimm taking second and
Brin Neumann placing third.
Freshman
Julia Imai, playing in her first collegiate match, won by four strokes with a 74-75-149 to finish five over.
Sydney Grimm placed second with a nine over 153 (76-77) and
Brin Neumann took third with a 76-79-155 11 over par performance.
Hallie Tulip tied for 26
th with an 86-90-176 and
Cassie Santelman tied for 43
rd with a 90-92-182.
The Stout "B" team placed sixth out of 13 teams with a 347-341-688.
Kaitlyn Bohl placed ninth overall with back-to-back 82's for a 164.
Abby Terada tied for 11
th with a 167. Improving from day one's 84 by a stroke for a round two score of 83.
Avery Meyer shot a 92 on day one, she then cut eight strokes off of her score with an 84 to tie for 26
th.
Madeline Kiley (89-96-185) tied for 45
th and
Andrea Smith tied for 49
th with a 94-93-186.
Playing individually,
Liz Rohl tied for 30
th with an 89-88-177 and
Peyton Zipperer tied for 55
th with a 97-96-193.

The Blue Devils will travel to Waverly, Iowa next weekend to compete in the Wartburg Invite on Sept. 7 and 8 at the Prairie Link Golf Course.
