Women's golf finishes seventh at Wartburg Fall Invitational

Wartburg Fall Invitational

WAVERLY, Iowa (September 11, 2022) - The UW-Stout women's golf team placed seventh of 23 teams at the two-day Wartburg Fall Classic at Prairie Links Golf Club in Waverly, Iowa.

Abbey Filipiak and Kendra Swanson finished in a five-way tie for 16th. Filipiak scored 75-79 – 154, while Swanson scored 78-76 – 154.

Freshman Liz Rohl played the two day course even, hitting an 80 on each day to tally a 160 and tie for 35th. Sydney Grimm cut 11 strokes from her first day, hitting an 88 on the first day, and lowering that to 77 on the second to finish at 165 and tied for 55th. Hallie Tulip also lowered her score, hitting 85 on the first day and 84 on the second to finish with a 169, good for a tie for 70th. 

As a team, Stout scored 318-312 – 630.

Stout will be at the Division III Midwest Classic, Sept. 17-18, at Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings, Minn.
