Blue Devils in sixth of 22 teams after first day at Wartburg Invite

WAVERLY, Iowa (September 10, 2022) - UW-Stout was in a tie for sixth place after the first day of the Wartburg College Fall Invitational at Prairie Links Golf Course Saturday.

Abbey Filipiak (Jr, Elk River, Minn) was in a tie for seventh place with a three-over 75. Kendra Swanson (Sr, Beaver Dam) was tied for 19th with a six over 78. 

Freshman Liz Rohl (Prescott) was in a tie for 30th with an eight-over 80. Rohl had two birdies on the day, but a triple bogey prevented her from breaking 80 for the first time in her collegiate career. Halllie Tulip (Fr, Arcadia) was tied for 61st with an 85 and Sydney Grimm was tied for 81st with an 88.

As a team, the Blue Devils were tied for sixth with UW-Whitewater with 318 strokes. The first day was called due to darkness with four teams still out on the course.

The remainder of the first meet will begin at 8 a.m. and the meet is scheduled to conclude Sunday, Sept. 11.
