Each week during the 2021-22 academic year, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its eight institutions for a "Student-Athlete Spotlight" Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Thursday and individuals are selected by the institution. The WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlights are presented by Culver's.

Why did you choose UW-Stout?
I chose UW-Stout because I liked the distance away it was from my hometown, and I wanted to be on the track team.
Â
What other clubs/organizations on campus are you involved in?
I am involved in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization that I found through an event hosted on campus.
Â
What causes do you care about?
I care about empowerment and mental health in sports.
What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being a NCAA Division III student-athlete?
My favorite part about competing in in the WIAC is getting to know the people that I am competing against. Since I am a long/triple jumper I spend a lot of time at the end of the runway so I get to talk to the girls I am competing against, and they are all really nice. It is nice being a student-athlete because it helps me stay motivated to get things done.

Â
Do you have any words of advice for younger/upcoming student-athletes?
Don't be afraid of the upperclassmen or coaches; they are all here to help you and are excited that you're a student-athlete and a part of the team.

What is your favorite thing to do off the court/field with your teammates?
My favorite thing to do with teammates is honestly just hang out in the dorms and watch movies.
