2021 UW-La Crosse Eagle Open
LA CROSSE (May 15, 2021) - UW-Stout freshman
Hannah Zastrow improved on her qualifying time and broke her own school record in the 100-hurdles with a first place finish in the event at the UW-La Crosse Eagle Open Friday.
Zastrow ran a time of 14.54 seconds in the preliminary of the event, then broke her own school record by knocking off two-tenths of a second with a time of 14.34. Her previous best time/school record was a 14.45 set last week at the conference championship. That time had her ranked in a tie for12th. The national rankings weren't updated as of this writing, but Zastrow could go to as high as 10th.
Zastrow also competed in the high jump, winning the event with a leap of 5-feet, 6.50-inches, matching a season-high.Â
Demi Ploor was fifth in the shot put (42-2.75) and
Mackenzie Huber was sixth (41-6). Ploor was ninth in the hammer throw (141-11).Â
The Blue Devils return to La Crosse for the two-day UW-La Crosse NCAA Final Qualifier, May 19-20. Several of the throwers will compete at the Augustana (Ill.) Twilight Qualifier, Thursday, May 20.
