2021 WIAC Women's Golf Championship Day One Results
REEDSBURG (April 30, 2021) - UW-Stout is in third place after the first day of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Golf Championship, presented by Culver's, at Reedsburg Country Club.
The young bare bones Blue Devils - two sophomores and two freshman - are leading in a new log jam in teams from third to seventh. Stout has recorded 343 strokes, narrowly ahead of fourth-placed UW-Eau Claire (344), fifth placed UW-Stevens Point (346), sixth placed UW-Platteville (349) and seventh placed UW-Oshkosh (352). UW-Whitewater is currently first (303) and relative newcomer to the WIAC women's golf season UW-La Crosse is second (309).
Freshman
Abbey Filipiak continues her strong first season, sitting in seventh in a three-way tie with a 78, the third time this season she has broken 80 in six rounds.
Kendra Swanson recorded her lowest round of the season so far, recording an 83 and is tied for 16th.
Sofia Morin turned in an 88 and is in a tie for 28th.
Grace Warrner also recorded her lowest score of the season, and is tied for 39th with a 94.
The second day will get underway Saturday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m.
