LA CROSSE (March 27, 2021) -
Jack Roeber won two events as the UW-Stout men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Great River Rust Buster hosted by UW-La Crosse on a cool, wet Saturday afternoon in the outdoor opener.
Roeber won the long jump with a leap of 20-feet, 10.75-inches and capped off the day with a first place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 44-4.
Noah Zastrow won the pole vault with a jump of of 17-0.75 and
Jacob Bugella won the hammer throw with a toss of 184-7, 20 feet beyond the second place finish of 163-8.
The long jump crew took the top five spots, while the triple jump crew took five of the top six finishes.
Daniel Nesja was second in both the long jump I20-7.75) and the triple jump (43-7.75). in the long jump,
Bobby Vang (19-6.25) was third,
Isaac Lee fourth (19-1.25) and
Hayden Zachgo fifth (18-9). In the triple jump, Lee was third (41-5),
Jakes Asembo fourth (41-4.25) and
Simon Lual sixth (39-3.25).
Zastrow led four pole vaulters in the pole vault.
Hawkin Petron and
Jacob Tomazevic were sixth(14-3.25) and
Jacob Backes was eighth (13-9.25).Â
Bugella continued the first place streak he began with the weight throw in the indoor season with the hammer throw.
Alec Benzinger was foyrth (157-1) and
Connor Walechka was fifth (156-9).Â
Benzinger was second in the shot put (50-0) and fifth in the discus (140-8).
Kevin Ruechel was third inthe discus (150-1).Â
In the sprints,
Brent Heilman was second (22.26) in the 200m and
Cody Lohrenz was sixth (22.84).
Carter Wente grabbed a third place finish in the 110-hurdles (15.33) and Zachgo was sixth (17.51).Â
On the women's side,
Hannah Zastrow won the high jump with a height of 5-5. Ashton Unrah was fifth in the event (4-9).Â
Shelby Larson (15-4) and
Jenna Driscoll (15-2.25) were third and fourth in the long jump and flipped finishes in the triple jump with Driscoll (33-4.50) third and Larson (33-3.25) fourth.Â
Mackenzie Huber was third in the shot put (42-6.75),
Payton Schneider was fifth in the discus (117-6) and
Demi Ploor was third in the javelin (103-4).Â
In the sprints,
Davia Clarke had a pair of top eight finishes, placing sixth in the 200m (27.02) and eighth in the 100m (12.88). Marissa Steale was third in the 400m (1:04.98) and
Whitley Carothers was fifth(1:05.95).
Autumn Donatell was fourth in the 100-hurdles (18.19)
Both the men's and the women's team finished second of five teams.
