Dortch Named WIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Newcomer of the Year

MENOMONIE – The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its award winners for the 2026 men's indoor track & field season. UW-Stout's freshman Patrik Dortch was chosen the Newcomer of the Year.

Patrik Dortch, a freshman jumper from Lindenhurst, Ill., placed first in the triple jump with a leap of 46-11 3/4 (14.32m) at the WIAC Championship meet. The only freshman to win an event.

Dortch finished the indoor season seventh in the north region and 33^rd in the nation in the triple jump 47-2 ¼ (14.38m). He had three jumps over 14 meters this season
