UW-Stout 68, UW-La Crosse 64 [PDF]
MENOMONIE (February 20, 2021) - The UW-Stout men's track and field team won their third consecutive dual meet and this time the Blue Devils upended fifth ranked UW-La Crosse, 68-64, in a dual meet Saturday at the Sports and Fitness Center.
Noah Zastrow continues to shine for the Blue Devils and for the second straight week he won both the long jump and the triple and for the third straight week the senior broke the facility record in the pole vault. Zastrow set the facility mark with a height of 17-feet, 8.50-inches, the best jump in Division III by a foot. All three of Zastrow's marks this year would have topped Division II. Zastrow won the long jump with a mark of 21-11, a top-25 mark in Division III and seventh in the conference.Â
Spencer Schultz won his second consecutive mile race and set a personal record in a time of 4-minutes, 17.37-seconds, edging the Eagles' Tyler Kisting by just under two seconds.Â
The Blue Devil throws team continued to flex their muscle, taking the top two spots in both the shot put and the weight throw.
Kevin Ruechel won the shot put with a season-best toss of 54-5.25, a mark that is fourth in the country.
Jacob Bugella won the weight throw for the third consecutive week, coming close to 60-feet with a mark of 59-3. The mark is third in the country and first in the WIAC.Â
Connor Walechka was second in the weight throw with a mark of career-best 58-4 - fifth in Division III - and
Alec Benzinger was second in the shot put with a personal-best 54-1, a throw that ranks him fifth nationally.  Walechka also had a career-best in the shot put (43-9).Â
Cory Wiegert took top honors in the 800-meter in a time of 2:00.68, a career best and
Benjamin LeMay was third (2:05.82).Â
Daniel Nesja was only a quarter of an inch away from first place in tthe triple jump with a mark of 45-4.50, a personal best.Â
The 4x400-meter relay team of

Cody Lohrenze,
Owen Jelinek and
Noah Beck had a solid second place finish in a time of 3:27.90.
Stout will have multi-performers at the UW-Stevens Point Multi Event Feb. 24-25. The entire team returns to action Saturday, Feb. 27, in a dual meet at UW-River Falls.
