DENTON, Texas (February 27, 2010) -
Naomi DeLara (Jr, Kahului, Hawaii) won the balance beam and
Meghan Hargens (Sr, Rosemount, Minn.) took second place in the all-around as UW-Stout scored the second highest team score in school history, but were defeated by NCAA Division II Texas Woman's University, 193.625-181.95, Saturday at Kitty Magee Arena.
DeLara won the beam with a school record score of 9.825. DeLara broke the school mark of 9.80 she set during her freshman season when she won the NCGA beam title. She also tied for third on the floor (9.700) and sixth on the vault (9.600).
As a team, Stout set a new team mark in the vault, scoring a 47.075 to shatter the mark of 46.925. All six Blue Devils set personal highs on the vault, including DeLara and Hargens, who tied for sixth with a 9.60.
Karina Schaub (So, Lakeland, Minn) scored a 9.375,
Kim Gulik (Fr, Elk Grove Village, Ill) a 9.275,
Heather Harmeyer (So, Milwaukee) a 9.225 and
Jordan Longtin (So, Owatonna, Minn) an 8.975.
Hargens won the all-around with a season-best 38.375, just under her personal best of 38.450. She tied for sixth on the vault (9.600), took fifth on the bars (9.550) and the beam (9.675), and finished seventh on the floor (9.550).
Schaub earned herself an eight place finish on the bars (8.900) and took ninth place on the vault (9.375).
