MADISON – Mai Nou Vang and Briana Brenteson earned 2026 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) women's lacrosse honors, as announced by the league office following a vote of the conference coaches.
Vang, a senior midfielder from Green Bay, Wis., put together one of the most dominant seasons in program history and was named First Team All-WIAC. She led the conference in draw controls per game (7.21, 11th nationally), free-position goals per game (0.79, 31st nationally), goals per game (4.00, 17th nationally), shots per game (8.36, 14th nationally), and shots on goal per game (6.71, fifth nationally). She also ranked second in the WIAC in total goals (56) and points per game (5.29, 36th nationally), fourth in total points (74, 93rd nationally), and third in free-position percentage (.579).
Vang scored six or more goals in a game five times this season and recorded eight or more draw controls in a game on seven occasions, including two games with 10 draw controls and a school-record 13 draw controls in a single contest. Her 101 draw controls this season established a new UW-Stout single-season record. Vang also set program single-season records in goals, assists, points, and draw controls.
Brenteson, a junior defender from Monticello, Minn., earned honorable mention All-WIAC recognition. She ranked fourth in the conference in caused turnovers per game (1.60) and recorded multiple caused turnovers in eight contests this season. Brenteson also added two goals during the year. The honor marks the third All-WIAC recognition of her career.
Madeline Candline, a junior defender from Pooler, Ga., was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
