THIS WEEK IN BLUE DEVIL ATHLETICS: JAN. 19-25

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils defeated No. 11 Stevens Point 83-67 on Wednesday before falling on the road at Whitewater 72-54.

AJ Uttech averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting 52.2 percent from the floor. He scored 20 points (7-12, 58.3%) and had 5 rebounds in an 83-67 win over No. 4 NPI-ranked Stevens Point. He then shot 45.5% to score 15 points at Whitewater and pulled down 5 rebounds.

Stout will host UW-La Crosse on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 7:05 p.m. in the Johnson Fieldhouse. The Blue Devils will then travel to Oshkosh, Wis. on Saturday, Jan. 24 to face the Titans at 5:05 p.m.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils dropped a pair of games this week, falling 79-50 at Stevens Point on Wednesday and 72-53 to No. 7 UW-Whitewater on Saturday.

Mary Berg played nearly every minute, averaging 12 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steal per game. Against #7 Whitewater, she shot 46.7 percent (7-15) and made three three-pointers to score 17 points.

The Blue Devils will travel to La Crosse, Wis. to face the Eagles in Mitchell Hall Gymnasium on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 7:05 p.m. Stout will then return home to host UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 24. Tip-off from the Johnson Fieldhouse is set for 3:05 p.m.

MEN'S ICE HOCKEY

The Blue Devil hockey team hosted the final non-conference games of the season over the weekend, dropping a 4-1 decision to RV Gustavus Adolphus on Friday before rebounding for a 6-3 win over RV St. Olaf on Saturday.

Kullan Daikawa had four points (1g, 3a) in Stout's 6-3 win over (RV/#14) St. Olaf on Saturday. He had the primary assists on Stout's first two goals, which were three minutes apart early in the first period, giving Stout a 2-1 lead. He added his third primary assist of the contest midway through the second period to extend Stout's lead to 5-2. He scored a power-play goal early in the third period to lift Stout to the 6-3 win.

The Blue Devils will return to WIAC play on Friday, Jan. 23, when they host UW-Stevens Point at the Fanetti Community Center. Stout will then travel to Stevens Point on Saturday, Jan. 24, to close out the season series with the Pointers. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. both nights.

GYMNASTICS

The Blue Devil gymnastics team is back in action after a week off. 

Jessica Qualich is tied for seventh in the nation on the vault with an average score of 9.675.

 Sarah Lutz is 12th in the nation on the uneven bars with a season average of 9.662.

Stout will travel to Winona, Minn., on Friday, January 23rd, for a dual meet with Winona State. The meet is set to start at 6 p.m. in McCown Gymnasium.

INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

The University of Wisconsin-Stout men's and women's indoor track and field teams kicked off the 2026 season on Saturday at the Steve Terry Alumni Meet. 

The Blue Devils will travel to La Crosse, Wis. on Saturday, Jan. 24 to compete in the UW-La Crosse Pat Healy Classic at 12 p.m. in the Hetzel Fieldhouse.
