This Week in Blue Devils Athletics: Nov. 3-9

THIS WEEK IN BLUE DEVIL ATHLETICS: NOV. 3 - 9

FOOTBALL

The 5-3, 3-2 Blue Devils are in a three-way tie for second place after a 31-14 loss at #10 La Crosse on Saturday. 

Blue Devils managed 265 yards of total offense. Moen finished 19-of-29 passing for 175 yards while adding 24 rushing yards and both of Stout's touchdowns. Davonte Evans led all receivers with 83 yards on four catches, and Avron Carter added eight receptions for 50 yards. Chase Hughes paced the rushing attack with 44 yards on five carries.

Defensively, Brooks Brewer recorded a team-high 12 tackles, while Blaine Seidl added 11. Walker Beyerl was active up front, tallying eight tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss. Gavin Goodman had six tackles and an interception.

Stout will travel to Platteville, Wis. to face the 12th ranked Pioneers on Saturday, Nov. 8. Kick-off from Pioneer Stadium is set for 2:05 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL

The UW-Stout volleyball team dropped a road match at River Falls last Wednesday in four sets (17-25, 21-25, 25-23, 13-25). 

Stout will host UW-La Crosse on Wednesday, Nov. 5 to close out the regular season.  The match will have a huge impact in the upcoming WIAC Tournament. A win and Stout could be the 4-seed and host a first-round game. A loss, and Stout could miss the tournament alltogether. First serve from the Johnson Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m. After the game Stout will have a short ceremony honoring their seniors. 

MEN'S SOCCER

The Blue Devil men’s soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie agaisnt UW-River Falls on Friday.

Stout is the 6-seed in the WIAC tournament and will travel to UW-Stevens Point on Tuesday, Nov. 4 to face the 3-seeded Pointers at 7:30 p.m. at the UWSP Turf Facility in the opening round of the WIAC tournament. 

If they win, they will advance to the WIAC semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 6 against UW-Eau-Claire.

MEN'S HOCKEY

After a pair of exhibition wins in the preseason (4-1 over Saint John's and 9-0 over Saint Mary's) the UW-Stout hockey team will officially open the 2025-26 season on Friday, Nov. 7 when they travel to Winona, Minn. to face Saint Mary's University at the SMU Ice Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.

Stout will then travel to St. Paul, Minn. on Saturday, Nov. 8 to face Hamline University at TRIA Rink Puck drop is set for 5 p.m.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devil men's basketball team open the 2025-26 season on Saturday, Nov. 8 when they host Oak Hills Christian College for a 4 p.m. tip at the Johnson Fieldhouse. 

The Blue Devils led by new head coach Tom Webb, return 14 letterwinners and three starters from last season's squad including All-WIAC players Aidan Shore and Collin Vick.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devil women's Basketball team will open the 2025-26 with a pair of games at the UW-Eau Claire Tip-off Tournament this weekend. 

Stout will face Ripon College on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and then face Lakeland University at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9. both games will take place at the Sonnetag Event Center.
