This Week in Blue Devils Athletics: Oct. 20-26

FOOTBALL

The Blue Devils fell 34-2 at No. 9 UW-Whitewater Friday night. Stout (4-2, 2-1) was limited offensively against a tough Warhawk defense, managing just 197 total yards while surrendering eight sacks. Whitewater (5-1, 2-1) pulled away in the second half behind a dominant rushing attack that amassed 268 yards.

Senior linebacker Blaine Seidl led Stout with a career-high 16 tackles, including two tackles for loss and a shared sack. Cole Saenger and Dawson Goodman added nine and 12 tackles, respectively.

Stout returns home on Saturday, Oct. 25, to host UW-Stevens Point for Homecoming. Kickoff from Don and Nona Williams Stadium is set for 1:05 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL

The UW-Stout volleyball team picked up a huge WIAC win on Wednesday, topping UW-Stevens Point 3-1 (25-22, 19-25, 25-17, 25-16) to snap a 19-match skid against the Pointers.

Stout then fell Friday night, 3-1, at (RV) St. Olaf College (25-23, 19-25, 16-25, 17-25).

The Blue Devils will host Hamline University on Tuesday, Oct. 21. First serve is set for 7 p.m. from Johnson Fieldhouse. 

Stout will then travel to Whitewater, Wis., on Friday, Oct. 24, for a 7 p.m. match with the Warhawks before facing Augustana College (Ill.) on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 12 p.m.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

The Blue Devil women’s soccer team fell 2-1 at Lawrence University on Wednesday and 4-0 to (RV) UW-La Crosse on Saturday.

The Blue Devils are currently third in a tight WIAC playoff race with three games remaining. Stout will host UW-River Falls on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Nelson Field before traveling to Whitewater, Wis., on Saturday, Oct. 25, for a 5 p.m. match against the Warhawks.

MEN'S SOCCER

The Blue Devil men’s soccer team fell 2-1 against UW-Whitewater and 6-0 at UW-Stevens Point last week.

Stout has a pair of road matches this week, traveling to Collegeville, Minn., on Wednesday, Oct. 22, to face Saint John’s University. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. from Haws Field. On Saturday, Oct. 25, Stout will travel to Platteville, Wis., to face the Pioneers at 1 p.m. from Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

MEN'S GOLF

The Blue Devil men’s golf team will close out the fall season at the Jeff Roope Invitational in Springfield, Ohio, on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 20-21. The eight-team tournament is hosted by Wittenberg University at Springfield Country Club.

TENNIS

The UW-Stout tennis team played its final dual match of the fall on Saturday, falling to UW-Whitewater 7-0.

The Blue Devils will head to Madison on Sunday, Oct. 26, to compete at the Wisconsin Tennis Classic Individual Tournament held at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

MEN'S HOCKEY

The Blue Devil hockey team opened the 2025-26 season with a 4-1 home exhibition win over Saint John’s University Saturday night at Fanetti Community Center.

The Blue Devils will travel to Winona, Minn., on Saturday, Oct. 25, for an exhibition game against Saint Mary’s University. Puck drop from the SMU Ice Arena is set for 7 p.m.
