VOLLEYBALL
The UW-Stout volleyball team went 3-0 picking up win at home over Hamline (25-18, 24-26, 25-16, 25-18). At No. 8 UW-Whitewater (18-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-16, 15-13) to snap a 40 game losing streak and give Stout their first win over the Warhawks since 1994. And closed out the week with a sweep over Augustana (Ill.)(25-16, 25-21, 25-17).
Emma Barton hit .419 with 31 kills and 15 blocks (3.67 P/S) in Stout's three wins last week. She hit .500 (9 kills and 5 blocks) in a win over Hamline. Then at #8 Whitewater, She had a career-high 16 kills (.343 Hit%) with nine blocks, including the match sealing kill. She then hit .545 in a sweep over Augustana (Ill.) (6 kills, 0 errors).
Kailey Kline averaged 4.33 digs a set as the Blue Devils went 3-0 last week. She totaled 52 digs (4.33 D/S), 15 assists and 5 aces. She 12 digs and 4 assists in a win over Hamline. Then at #8 Whitewater she totaled 24 digs and six assists. She then added 16 in a sweep over Augustanna.
Lainey Todd had three double-doubles, averaged 6.52 assists and 2.50 digs per set in the Blue Devils 6-2 offense to help Stout go 3-0 last week. Against Hamline he dished out 28 assists and 10 digs. At #8 Whitewater she had 26 assists and 10 digs. Then to wrap the weekend she had 25 assists and 10 digs in a sweep over Augustana.
Stout will travel to River Falls, Wis. on Wednesday, Oct. 29 for a 7 p.m. match with the Falcons.
