THIS WEEK IN BLUE DEVIL ATHLETICS: NOV. 10-16

FOOTBALL

The Blue Devils concluded the regular season with a hard-fought 29-19 loss to No. 4 UW-River Falls.

Davonte Evans recorded six receptions for 104 yards, marking his fifth 100-yard receiving game of the season. He hauled in a 17-yard touchdown pass in the back corner of the end zone to pull Stout within a 19-13 score with one minute remaining in the third quarter.

Blaine Seidl led the Blue Devil defense with 15 total tackles (9 solo). He also recorded a tackle for loss, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, had two pass breakups, and blocked a PAT.

The UW-Stout team will participate in the fifth annual Culver's Isthmus Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 22. The Blue Devils will face Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) at 2 p.m. at Bank of Sun Prairie Stadium at Ashley Field in Sun Prairie, Wis.

Stout finished the regular season with a 5-5 overall record and a 3-4 mark in WIAC play. WashU enters the game with an 8-2 overall record and a 7-2 mark in the CCIW. This will be the first meeting between the programs, with Stout making its second consecutive Isthmus Bowl appearance and WashU making its third.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devil women's basketball team split a pair of games last week, defeating #13 Bethel 61-53 at home and falling 81-66 at Concordia Moorhead.

Rosella Wille shot 80.0% from the floor, was perfect from beyond the arc and the free throw line in Stout's two games this week. She averaged 10 points, 5.5 rebounds (3.0 offensive), three steals, and 1.5 assists. In Stout's win over #13 Bethel, she scored 10 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. At Concordia Moorhead, she was 4-6 (2-2 3pt) for 10 points, four rebounds, and three steals.

The Blue Devils will host Maranatha Baptist on Tuesday, November 18 at 5 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader with the men's team.

MEN'S HOCKEY

The Blue Devils swept their home games last weekend, defeating Bethel 8-2 and Saint John's 6-2.

Freshman Arhip Sidarovich led the charge with two goals and two assists for four points on the weekend. All three of his points against Saint John's came in the 3rd period. He scored the game-winning goal with a snipe from the top of the circle, then added an assist and a shorthanded goal to secure the victory.

Stout will begin WIAC play on Thursday, November 20, traveling to Janesville, Wis. to take on Beloit College. They will then travel UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, November 22, at Hobbs Ice Arena. Puck drop for both games is set for 7:00 PM.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devil men's basketball team fell 82-76 at Macalester last Wednesday. 

Tyrel Creger led the Blue Devils with 24 points on 7-15 shooting and 9-13 from the charity stripe. He added three rebounds and two steals.

 Stout will host Maranatha Baptist on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. in the second game of a doubleheader with the women's team. The team will then travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. on Saturday, Nov. 22 for a 3 p.m. game with #12 Calvin University.
