THIS WEEK IN BLUE DEVIL ATHLETICS: JAN. 13 - 19

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils moved into a tie for second place in the WIAC with a pair of wins. Stout ran away from UW-River Falls 73-48. Then on the road against No. 5 UW-Whitewater, a strong fourth quarter lifted Stout to a 76-65 win. 
Raegan Sorensen is averaging 15 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists a game while shooting 39.3 percent. Against UWRF she scored 14 points (41.7 percent shooting) four steals and two rebounds. At No. 5 UW-Whitewater, she scored 16 points, pulled down 9 rebounds, had 6 assists and a pair of steals. Against UWW, she recorded her 600th career rebound. 

On Wednesday Jan. 15 Stout will travel to La Crosse, Wis. for a 7:05 p.m. game with the Eagles. Stout will return home on Saturday, Jan.18 to host UW-Stevens Point. Tip-off from the Johnson Fieldhouse is set for 3:05 p.m.
 

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils improved to 3-0 in WIAC play and sit tied atop the conference standings. Stout topped UW-River Falls 66-64 on an AJ Uttech buzzer beater. Then Justin Nelson made a layup with 6.2 seconds left to give Stout a 62-61 win over UW-Whitewater. 


Collin Vick has been very consistent, shooting 50 percent from the floor, In each game week, Vick scored eight points, eight rebounds and four assists. 


Stout will host #14 UW-La Crosse on Wednesday, Jan. 15. Opening tip from the Johnson Fieldhouse is set for 7:05 p.m. Stout will then head to Stevens Point, Wis. on Saturday Jan. 18 for a 5:05 p.m. start against the Pointers.

GYMNASTICS

The Blue Devils opened the season last Friday with a dual against UW-Whitewater. 

Stout on the vault with a 47.650. Jessica Qualich won the individual vault, tying a career-high 9.700. She is currently second in the nation in the vault. 

Gillian Cummins won the all-around with a 37.500 

Stout will travel to Chicago, Ill. on Friday, Jan. 17 to compete at the Windy City Invite. The Blue Devils will face Illinois State University, Fisk University and Wilberforce University at 7 p.m. from Navy Pier Festival Hall.

ICE HOCKEY

The Blue Devils swept a pair of home non-conference games this weekend. Topping Augsburg 5-1 and Concordia Moorhead 6-3. 

Nicolas Pigeon tallied three goals and an assist on eight shots while winning 16 faceoffs.  He scored in a 5-1 win over Augsburg. Then in a 6-3 win over Concordia Moorhead he scored two goals, including the game winner, and had an assist. 

Stout will travel to St. Peter, Minn. on Friday, Jan. 17 to face Gustavus Adolphus. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. Stout will then head to Northfield, Minn. for 5 p.m. game with St. Olaf on Saturday, Jan. 18. 

INDOOR TRACK

Stout will open the 2025 indoor track season with the Steve Terry Alumni Meet on Saturday, Jan. 18. The meet is set to start at 1 p.m. in the Multi Purpose Room.
