WAVERLY, IOWA - The Blue Devils men's and women's outdoor track and field teams set 22 personal best at the Good Friday Challenge to open the 2024 outdoor season Friday,
Indoor All-American
Hannah Zastrow picked up right where she left off from the indoor season, with a second place finish int he women's 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.64 seconds. That time is currently fifth fastest in the nation. She won the women's high jump with a mark of 1.63 meters, a mark that is fifth in the nation.
Corrina Tvedt placed sixth in the women's 400-meters with a time of 1:01.20.
Josh Wehrman finished the men's 800-meters with a time of 2:03.42 to place fifth. Syndey Reisner placed fourth in the women's race with a time of 2:24.39.
Matthew Thomas took second in the men's 1500-meters with a time 3:58.36.
Olivia Donohue placed fourth in the women's race with a 4:43.36. Her time is the 19th fastest in the nation.
Brekkyn Lammert placed sixth with a 4:44.36.
Nate Karau took second in the men's discus with a throw od 45.12 meters and sits 19th in the in nation. He placed fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 50.10 meters.
Connor Walechka took sixth in the men's weight throw and is 17th in the nation with a mark of 51.09 meters.
Aubree Koenings sits second in the nation in the women's hammer throw with a throw of 51.78 meters.
Matthew Binstock and
Caleb Whitney each had a mark of 1.90 meters in the men's high jump and currently sit 16th in the nation.
Noah Flood Elyafi placed fourth the a 1.85 meter mark.
Sloan Horgan placed sixth in the women's javelin with a throw of 29.37 meters.
Jonny Grams placed third in the men's long jump with a 6.03 meter jump. Adam Szapieniec and
Hayden Zachgo tied for fifth with a mark of 5.86 meters.
Jenna Driscoll placed fifth in the women's event with a 5.26 meter jump to sit 14th in the nation.
Braden Krystosek won the men's pole vault with a vault of 4.58 meters to sit tenth in the nation.
Sam Knox was third with a vault of 4.43 meters.
Sloan Horgan,
Bridgette Allen, and
Alexis Anderson each tied for fifth in the women's pole vault with a vault of 2.75 meters.
Noah Flood Elyafi (13.53meters) and
Matthew Binstock (13.14 meters) went one-two in the men's triple jump.
The women's 4x100-meter relay team of
Jenna Driscoll,
Lilly Roberts,
Lilly Gamache and
Makayla Durango placed second with a time of 48.92 seconds.
