LA CROSSE - Mason Barth won the men's Decathlon to lead the Blue Devil men's track and field team to a third place finish at the Phil Esten Challenge. The women's team finished ninth overall.
Barth scored a personal best 6610 points to win the men's decathlon by 57 points.. Barth was in second place after nine events, trailing the leader by 67 points heading into the final event, the 1500 meter run. Barth finished second int he race with a time of 4:31.36 to earn 672 points and catapult himself into the lead.
Overall, The Blue Devils had 29 top-eight finishes, with the men recording 20 and the women totaling nine.
Keegan Pulchinski placed fourth in the men's 400 meters with a time of 50.88 and
Owen Jelinek took eighth with a time of 51.52.
Josh Wehrman took seventh in the men's 800-meters with a time of 2:00.18.
Sydney Reisner took eighth in the women's race with a time of 2:21.04.
Brekkyn Lammert ran a personal best in the women's 1500-meters with a time of 4:44.98.
Xander McFaul ran a personal best in the men's 5000-meters with a time of 15:37.10 to finish seventh.
Matthew Ryan ran a personal best in the men's 10,000-meters with a time of 30:34.08.
In the men's 110 hurdles,
Kaden Martin finished second with a time of 14.67.
Carter Wente took fourth (15.13).
Dylan Edland ran a personal best 15.50 to finish seventh.
Kaylie Raths took fifth in the women's 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.75.
Caitlin Harrison placed sixth with a time of 15.78. Raths took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.77.

Jacob Tomazevic placed sixth in teh men's pole vault with a jump of 4.50 meters (14' 9").
Sorensen took third in the women's javelin with a throw of 34.32 meters (112' 7").
Jack Roeber placed second in the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.14 meters (46' 4.75").
Noah Flood Elyafi took eighth with a mark of 13.40 meters (43' 11.75").
Karter Rashke took eighth in the men's shot put with a throw of 14.02 meters (46' 0").
Nate Karau set a personal best mark in the men's discus with a throw of 48.00 meters (157' 6").
Connor Walechka took seventh with a throw of 42.09 meters (138' 1").
Karau won the men's javelin with a throw of 52.59 meters (172' 6").
Nathan Skroch took fifth (44.30 meters, 145' 4"). Anthony Kuehl took sixth (39.44 meters, 129' 5").
Lexi Cole took sixth in the women's heptathlon with a personal best 4156 points.
The Blue Devils will be competing in two meets next weekend at the UW-Eau Claire Invite on Friday April, 28, and at the Drake Relays Friday and Saturday April 28-29.
