PLATTEVILLE, WIS., ARDEN HILLS, MINN. - The UW-Stout men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at two meets over the weekend. The Blue Devils set numerous personal bests at the two meets.
The Blue Devils sent their distance athletes to the UW-Platteville Invite Friday. In the 800-meters,
Lance Pfrimmer paced Stout with an eighth place finish with a time of 1:54.03.
Grant Magnuson finished 14th with a time of 1:56.65 and
Silas Green set a personal best with a time of 1:56.77. In the women's race
Brekkyn Lammert ran a 2:19.71 to finish 11th and
Hannah Daws ran a 2:26.8 to finish 18th.
In the men's 1500-meters,
Alex Suelflow finished 14th (4:10.02) and
Tyler Rislov took 17th (4:11.72). Both ran personal bests.
All five Blue Devil men set personal bests in the 5000-meters.
Matthew Ryan finished 21st with a time of 14:39.89.
Ian Williams finished 55th (15:04.40),
Eli Marszalek took 64th (15:10.42),
Max Fore placed 69th (15:11.54) and
Nels Trandahl took 97th with a time of 15:24.72. In the women's race,
Mckayla Felton placed 31st with a time of 18:02.12.
Olivia Donohue (18:12.58) and
Libby Meyer (18:15.02) both set personal bests.
Saturday at the Bethel Invite, The Blue Devils totaled 59 top-ten finishes, 42 in the field events and 17 in the track events.
Ava DeBaker finished ninth in the women's 100-meters (13:32) and seventh in the women's 200-meters (27:51). Both of which were personal bests.
In the men's 400 meters
Owen Jelinek took third with a time of 50:80 and Zackery Ihde set a career mark with a time of 52:54.
Sydney Reisner took third in the women's 800-meters with a time of 2:18.22 and
Josh Wehrman placed sixth in the men's race with a time of 2:00.36.
The Blue Devil men took four of the top seven spots in the 110 meter hurdles.
Kaden Martin placed second with a time of 14:76,
Carter Wente took fourth (15:83)
Noah Beck placed sixth (16:16), and
Nolan Zachgo finisehd seventh with a time of 16:58.
Lily Roberts took sixth in the women's 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16:88 seconds. She took second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.60.
Martin took third in the men's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.87 seconds. Wente claimed fifth with a time of 59.04. Zachgo took seventh with a time of 1:01.38 and
Tyson Coy finished eighth with a time of 1:02.99.
In the men's high jump
Matthew Binstock placed third with a hight of 1.55 meters.
Noah Flood Elyafi and Ethan Rupakus both cleared 1.75 meters. In the women;s high jump
Claire Michaelson and
Tegan Roder tied with jump of 1.45 meters.
Jacob Tomazevic won the men;s pole vault with a height 4.70 meters.
Mason Barth took second with a height of 4.55 meters and
Riley Hibner took sixth with jump of 4.25 meters. In the women's pole vault
Raegan Sorensen placed third with jump of 3.34 meters. and
Abi Weishoff took fourth (3.19 meters).
In the men's long jump,
Noah Flood Elyafi (6.39 meters),
Jack Roeber (6.35 meters),
Mason Barth (6.30 meters) and Jonathan Lorea all cleared 20 feet. Flood Elyafi took second with Roeber just behind in third.
Kehau Phillips took eighth in the women's triple jump with a mark of 10.46 meters.
Karter Rashke won the men's shot put with a final throw of over 50 feet (15.51 meters).
Nate Karau was fifth (12.98 meters) and
Joey Lanoux was sixth (12.95 meters).
Karau set a personal best in the men's discus to win the event with a throw of 47.83 meters.
Connor Walechka was second (42.46 meters), Issac Kraus was fourth (40.11 meters), Rashke was fifth (39.96 meters) and
Cody Jantzen took eighth (37.76 meters).
In the women's discus, Booke Baumann set a personal best with throw of 35.64 meters to finish fifth.
Lincoln Wellsmith placed sixth with a throw of 35.34 meters, also a personal best.
In the men's hammer throw, Karau placed third with a throw of 48.44 meters. Anthony Kuehl took fifth (44.18 meters),
Derek Millard placed sixth (43.27 meters) and
Isaac Kraus finsihed eighth (42.93 meters). In the women's weight throw, Sam Leoni took fifth with a throw of 41.85 meters. and Paton Schneider took eighth witha throw of 39.62 meters.
Lexi Cole placed second in the women's javelin with a throw of 33.61 meters and Nathon Skroch took seventh in the men's javelin with a throw of 38.18 meters.
The Blue Devils will be back in action next Friday and Saturday, April 21-22 when the travel to La Crosse, Wis. to compete at the Phil Esten Challenge.
