Barth Wins Heptathlon, Felton 3000 meters at WIAC Indoor Championships

MENOMONIE - Mason Barth won the men's Heptathlon and Mckayla Felton won the women's 3000 meters at the 2023 WIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships presented by Culver's. Both the men's and women's team finsihed fifth overall. 

Barth won the heptathlon by more than 200 points with a career-best score of 5030 points. He also set personal bests in the 60 meter dash and the high jump. 

Felton ran a personal best 10:04.22 in the women's 3000 meters. She took the lead with four laps to go and with two laps left she held nearly a second and a half lead, She fought off a late charge to win the WIAC title. 


ALL-CONFERENCE
Mile: Spencer Schultz ran a personal best time of 4:12.09 to finish third.
60 hurdles: Kaden Martin finished second with a personal best 8.18 seconds. 
Pole Vault: Mason Barth took third in with a jump of 4.74 meters (15' 6.5").
Shot Put: Karter Rashke took second with a personal best throw of 15.52 meters (50' 11").


PODIUM FINISHERS
800-meters: Sydney Reisner took sixth with a personal best time of 2:16.00
Mile: Brekkyn Lammert finished fourth with a personal best time of 5:05.18. Lance Pfrimmer also ran a personal best in the men's mile to finish 8th with a time of 4:13.83. 
3000-meters: Spencer Schultz finished sixth in the men's race with a time of 8:28.96. Olivia Donohue ran a personal best 10:32.09 to finish seventh in the women's race.
5000-meters: Matthew Ryan finsihed 4th in the men's race with a time of 14:52.69 and Matthew Thomas ran a personal best 15:01.17 to finish seventh. Mckayla Felton finished fifth in the women's race with a personal best time of 17:54.09.
60 hurdles: Mason Barth took fifth (8.31) and Carter Wente took eighth (8.66) in the men's race. In the women's race Caitlin Harrison took sixth (9.27) and Kaylie Raths took seventh (9.40).
4x400: Keegan Pulchinski, Owen Jelinek, Kory Wiegert and Grant Magnuson took sixth place with a time of 3:22.26.
DMR: Olivia Donohue, Hannah Daws, Sydney Resiner and Olivia Krahnhue took fifth with a time of 12:48.41.
High Jump: Lexi Cole took eighth with a jump of 1.59 meters. 
Long Jump: Jenna Driscoll took eighth with a jump of 5.01 meters. 
Weight Throw: Connor Walechka placed fourth with a throw of 17.30 meters. Nate Karau placed sixth with a throw of 16.59 meters. 
Hepathlon: Brandon Dick took eighth with a score of 4475 points. 
Pentathlon: Lexi Cole took eighth with a score of 2996 points.

The Blue Devils will compete next weekend at the Wartburg Qualifier Meet in Waverly, Iowa.
