MENOMONIE, WIS. – The University of Wisconsin Stout head men's and women's track coach Kyle Steiner has announced that Jessica Devine has been promoted to programs associate head coach.
Devine is entering her fourth year with Blue Devil men's and women's track and field teams where she works with the hurdles and jumps.
"In Jess's three and a half years at Stout she has made a tremendous impact, not just in coaching her event specific athletes, but to everything we do in this program," head coach Kyle Steiner said. "She has brought many new ideas to the table and at times challenged the status quo, but those challenges and ideas have allowed our team and program to grow. Jess has become far more than an assistant coach, having her here is like having a second head coach on staff."
Last season Devine coached two athletes to the NCAA indoor championships and three to the outdoor championships. Earning All-American honors in five events.
"I'm very grateful to Coach Steiner and honored to be given the opportunity to help lead our teams in a greater capacity, Devine said, "I am incredibly proud to be a part of this program, and of what our men and women have accomplished over the past few years. I'm excited to see what the future has in store for our Blue Devils!"
A native of La Crosse, Wis. Devine ran collegiately at Winona State where she set school records in the indoor 55m and 60m hurdles. She also set outdoor record in the 100m hurdles and ranks in the top-ten all-time on six other events. She was NSIC Indoor champion in the 55m hurdles and outdoor champion in the 100-meter dash and 100m hurdles.
Prior to UW-Stout, she spent time at Minnesota Morris where she was named UMAC women's indoor and outdoor track and field coach of the year. She led the cougars to two conference championships.
