Erin Konsela selected as Athletics Development Officer

MENOMONIE (August 3, 2022) - Erin Konsela will begin another chapter in her walk with the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Konsela was recently named the UW-Stout Athletics Development Officer, Vice Chancellor for University Advancement Willie Johnson and Athletic Director Duey Naatz announced.

Konsela, whose association with UW-Stout stretches back to 2001, will lead the Blue Devils athletic department fund raising efforts as a member of the UW-Stout Foundation's advancement team, focusing on athletics.

No stranger to UW-Stout or to the Blue Devils' athletic department, Konsela graduated from Stout with a bachelor's in Human Development and Family Studies, was a member of the Blue Devil women's basketball team, is a member of the UW-Stout Athletic Hall of Fame, served as a women's basketball assistant coach, was the Blue Devils' women's tennis coach and, most recently, worked as an admissions counselor for the University.

"Being a former student-athlete and coach at UW-Stout, I couldn't be more excited to be back working with UW-Stout Athletics," Konsela said.  "Much of the success that has happened here over the years is credited to the great athletes, great coaches, and great staff. I'm thrilled to continue to build and foster relationships with those people that had such an impact here at UW-Stout. I'm also really eager to figure out how we take what has been developed here and keep building on it to continue to make current student-athletes and alumni proud to be Blue Devils."

A standout guard for the UW-Stout women's basketball program from 2001-05, Erin (Churchill) Konsela was a UW-Stout admissions counselor from 2014-22 and was a women's basketball assistant coach from 2007-14. Konsela was inducted into the UW-Stout Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. Konsela was the UW-Stout women's tennis head coach during the 2012-13 season and was an assistant tennis coach for the two previous seasons.

"We are certainly excited to have Erin working with us," Johnson said. "Erin brings a wealth of experience with her background with the University. As a former student-athlete herself, she can certainly relate to our alumni student-athletes."

"We are truly excited to have this relationship between the University Foundation and Blue Devil athletics," Naatz said. "We are looking forward to further develop our connections with our great athletic alumni."

Konsela, a Plum City native, played basketball for UW-Stout from 2001-05 where she was a two-time all-WIAC honorable mention pick, a four-year letter winner and an integral part when Stout won conference championships in 2002 and 2005. Konsela played in 112 games and went on to start 83 games.

Konsela and her husband, Eric, reside in Menomonie with their two children.
