This Week in Blue Devils Athletics: Nov. 21

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils went 2-0 to improve to 2-1. Stout pulled away late to defeat Bethany Lutheran 73-61 and held on down the stretch to hold off Luther College 60-57 in their first road game. Amanda Giesen is averaging 13.7 points and 5.3 rebounds. Raegan Sorensen is scoring 13.3 points and 6.7 rebounds a game.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils went 1-1 on a record setting weekend. Brody Fox obliterated a school record scoring 70 points on 34 of 38 shooting in the 147-126 win over Greenville. Aidan Shore scored 33 points as the Blue Devils scored 122 points in the paint. Stout is 2-3 on the season and will head to Grand Forks, N.D. to face North Dakota in an exhibition game before returning home to host Augsburg on Saturday.

HOCKEY

The Blue Devils 6-2 and 1-1 in WIAC play.  They are receiving votes in the uscho.com poll for the third straight week and are 11th in the pairwise rankings. Stout is averaging 4.6 goals a game with a power play clipping along at a 27.6 percent. The Stout defense is allowing 2.1 goals a game and the penalty kill is 93.1 percent (27 for 29). Matt Dahlseide and Peyton Hart led the team with six goals apiece. Tyler Masternak is 4-0 with a .955 saves percentage and 1.50 goals against average.
