MENOMONIE (January 27, 2022) - The UW-Stout men's and women's track and field teams will host the Warren Bowlus Open, Friday, Jan. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 29.
The two-day event will include multi-event athletes - pentathlon for the women, heptathlon for the men. The first day of competition will begin at 3 p.m. and will only be the multi-events. The women's pentathlon will run all five events on the first day, while the men's heptathlon will conduct four events on the first day and will conclude with three evens on the second day.
The men's heptathlon will begin contesting their final three events Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The remainder of the Saturday events will get underway at 11:30 a.m., with the first running event scheduled for 12:30 p.m. The final event is scheduled to begin at 5:08 p.m.
The meet will feature nine women's teams - UW-Stout, UW-Eau Claire, UW-River Falls, UW-Superior, St. Catherine, St. Scholastica, Northwestern-St. Paul, North Central (Minn) University and Viterbo University - and eight men's teams - UW-Stout, UW-Eau Claire, UW-River Falls, UW-Superior, St. Scholastica, Northwestern-St. Paul, North Central (Minn) University and Viterbo University
Spectators are allowed, but are expected to be masked at all times while indoors and to stay in the bleachers during the meet.
The meet has been conducted since 1991 in honor of former UW-Stout athletic director Warren Bowlus, who passed away in 2020.
