Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College
NAPERVILLE, Ill (May 13, 2021) - Both UW-Stout's men's and women's 4x400-meter relay teams took big jumps in the national rankings by hitting top times of the season at the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College Thursday.
The men's relay team of
Cody Lohrenz,
Caleb Green,
Keegan Pulchinski and
Brent Heilman ran the program's fastest 4x400-relay time since 2014 and could jump as much as 30 spots in the national rankings.
The team finished in a time of 3-minutes, 15.97-seconds. Coming into the meet, the Stout team was ranked 45th, but today's time could place them into the top 15. The 2014 team of Ross Thompson, Zach Anderson, Cody Hodowanic and Kevin Salveson ran a time of 3:15.75. The school record is 3:12.15 set in 2004 by Scott Barthel, Derek Gonzenbach, Craig Kotsmith and Dave Hanson.Â
The women's relay team of
Kiley Lehman,
Grace Maurer,
Emma Bullard and
Raelin Sorensen also ran a season-best, clocking a time of 3:55.50, a time that will put them fifth on Stout's all-time list. The women's team came in ranked 43rd with a mark they set at last week's WIAC Championship. The team took off five seconds from last weekend's mark and could drop into the top 25 nationally.
Sorensen also competed in the high jump, finishing with a height of 5-feet, 2.25-inches.Â
Stout will compete at the UW-La Crosse Eagle Open, Friday, May 14.
