2021 USTFCCCA All-Region

MENOMONIE (March 19, 2021) - UW-Stout's Mackenzie Huber and Hannah Zastrow earned All-Region honors for the 2021 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season were announced on Friday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Huber was selected all-region in the shot put, and Zastrow earned all-region honors in three events - the pentathlon, the high jump and the 60-meter hurdles.

To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their respective region on the final TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region's top-3 relay team was also selected for distinction.

Huber, a sophomore, is a repeat selection to the squad after getting the nod last year in the shot put. Nationally this season, Huber was sixth in the shot put, firing off a season-best mark of 45-feet, 3.50-inches at the WIAC Last Chance Meet, March 6. That mark ranked her fourth in the WIAC. Huber consistently threw the shot in the 44- to 45-foot range throughout the season. Huber finished first in the event in the four dual meets Stout competed in.

Zastrow, a freshman, introduced herself to both the conference and to the region with the three regional awards.

Zastrow was tied for fourth nationally in the high jump - tied for second in the WIAC - with a height of 5-feet, 5.75-inches at the WIAC Last Chance Meet, March 6. Zastrow ranked 12th nationally - fourth in the WIAC - in the 60-meter hurdles, with her best time of 8.95-seconds Feb. 13 in a dual meet with UW-Eau Claire. Zastrow had her first run in the pentathlon at the WIAC Multi at UW-Stevens Point, Feb. 24, tallying a school freshman record point total of 3301 points. The point total is 10th nationally and fifth in the WIAC.

A total of 1152 honors were bestowed on 92 different institutions with 579 honors on the men's side and an additional 573 for women's teams.

The outdoor track and field season is scheduled to get underway Saturday, March 27, when the Blue Devils travel to UW-La Crosse.
