MENOMONIE (February 22, 2021) - The UW-Stout and WIAC basketball season winds down with the final regular season games scheduled for this week with both teams stepping out of divisional play and will face UW-Whitewater.
For the Blue Devil women's basketball team, they will be seeing Warhawk purple in their sleep. After the two regular season games this week, the Blue Devils will return to Whitewater, Monday, March 1 to begin the WIAC Championship tournament. The seeding for the men's tournament is expected to be announced this Monday.
The hockey team will take on UW-Stevens Point, and the track and field teams will have multi-events members competing at the two-day UW-Stevens Point Multi before a dual meet at UW-River Falls Saturday, Feb. 27.
The Blue Devil gymnastics team gets their season underway Friday by competing at Gustavus Adolphus College.
The softball team will open their 2021 campaign when they travel to Mankato, Minn., to take on UW-Superior in a pair of games in the Mankato Dome on the Minnesota State, Mankato, campus. Bethany Lutheran College, the host of the tournament, announced no spectators will be allowed.
The WIAC announced this past week that spring sports will be able to participate in competition. Spring sports at Stout this year include: softball, baseball, men's and women's outdoor track and field, men's and women's golf, and women's tennis. Schedules for tennis and golf will be released soon.
