Complete St. Thomas Showcase Results
ST. PAUL, Minn (February 9, 2018) - St. Thomas hosted a multi-team men's and women's indoor track and field meet Friday at Anderson Fieldhouse. No team scores were kept.
Sam Elsner broke his how indoor shot put record at the St. Thomas meet, tossing the rock 58-feet, 1.25-inches, the first Stout performer to throw shot further than 58 feet, either indoor or outdoor. The mark is the furthest so far this season in Division III by more than two feet.
Anton Proksch had a couple of top six finishes, placing third in the shot put (51-9) and sixth in the weight throw (53-7). Both marks were personal bests.
Freshman
Cody Lohrenz notched a pair of top six finishes, placing second in the 25-man field in the 400m (51.51 seconds) and sixth in the 43-entrant 200m (22.84).
Stout will be at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational, Saturday, Feb. 17
Sprints and Hurdles
- Freshman Cody Lohrenz captured two top six finishes, placing second in the 400m (51.51) and sixth in the 200m (22.84).
- Ross Thompson was eighth in the 200m (23.06).
- In the 60m, Brent Heilman placed 15th (7.32) and Mackenson Steinberg was 19th (7.34).
- Noah Zastrow (9.28) and Alex Grulkowski (9.31) finished 11th and 12th, respectively, in the 60m hurdles.
- The 4x400-relay team of Kody Radtke, Andrew Gilles, Sam Wouters and Grulkowski finished fourth (3:32.11). The team of Nick Wilkerson, Mike Fifield, Jake Houghton and David Rosenlund were sixth (3:38.70), the team of Brandon Hernandez, Zastrow, Jack Hoaby and Noah Bielkinski finished ninth (3:41.14) and the team of Jude Pelowski, Dillon Keller, Seth Plenge and Isaac Seibold were 10th (3:41.16).

- Sam Elsner broke a school indoor shot put record for the second week straight. He broke the shot put record he set last week, tossing the heavy ball 58-1.25. Kevin Ruechel was 15th (42-4.75).
- Anton Proksch had a couple of top six finishes, placing third in the shot put (51-9) and sixth in the weight throw (53-7).
- Duncan Magerl was 11th in the weight throw (51-2.25) and Ruechel 16th (46-4).
