UW-Stout Posts Strong Showing at Uncaged Eagle Open

LA CROSSE – The University of Wisconsin–Stout men's and women's track and field teams turned in several strong performances Friday at the UW-La Crosse Uncaged Eagle Open at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Blue Devils were led by a runner-up finish from Karter Rashke in the shot put and another standout showing from the men's pole vault group led by Braden Krystosek.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

In the 100-meter dash, James John placed 31st in 11.16, Jonny Grams was 38th in 11.24, and Conner Blade finished 39th in 11.25.

Conner Blade led UW-Stout in the 200 meters, placing 14th in 22.18. Jonny Grams finished 22nd in 22.52, while James John was 33rd in 22.99.

Nolyn Lindner placed 10th in the 400 meters in 49.20.

Walter Strait finished 21st in the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.38.

Lucas Anderson paced the Blue Devils in the 1500 meters, placing 16th in 3:57.20. Nick Schulte finished 34th in 4:02.41, Yahye Mohamed was 37th in 4:04.04, Joe Huber placed 41st in 4:06.01, Josh Ellerman finished 49th in 4:08.38, and Lucas Jablonski was 55th in 4:13.56.

Thomas Casey ran a 14.19 in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles before placing fourth overall in the finals with a time of 14.41. Malachy Driscoll clocked a 14.41 in the prelims and finished fifth in the finals in 14.58.

Nolan Zachgo placed ninth in the 400-meter hurdles in 54.81.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Nolyn Lindner, James John, Jonny Grams, and Braedon Pederson placed fifth in 42.13.

UW-Stout's A 4x400-meter relay team of Nolan Zachgo, Conner Blade, Logan Scott, and Nolyn Lindner finished seventh in 3:16.08. The B squad of Jacob Sutton, Ethan Kroeger, Braedon Pederson, and Kolvin Mayer placed ninth in 3:26.91.

In the high jump, Jae Berg and Matthew Binstock tied for eighth after clearing 1.87 meters (6-1.5).

Braden Krystosek placed fifth in the pole vault after clearing 5.01 meters (16-5.25), while Sam Knox finished 13th at 4.71 meters (15-5.5).

Kolvin Mayer placed ninth in the long jump with a mark of 6.62 meters (21-8.75), while Jonny Grams finished 14th at 6.40 meters (21-0).

Patrik Dortch finished 14th in the triple jump with a leap of 13.57 meters (44-6.25).

Karter Rashke recorded a runner-up finish in the shot put with a toss of 17.61 meters (57-9.5). Jacob Dietel finished 11th at 16.05 meters (52-8).

John Baker placed 21st in the discus with a throw of 45.56 meters (149-6).

In the hammer throw, Jesse Fowler placed fourth with a mark of 57.31 meters (188-0), while Maverick Metzger finished 11th at 53.60 meters (175-10).

Michael Volz placed 11th in the javelin with a throw of 44.02 meters (144-5), and Logan Scott finished 12th at 39.33 meters (129-0).

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Karlynn Gustafson led UW-Stout in the 100 meters, placing 28th in 13.10, while Mack Champion finished 38th in 13.52.

In the 200 meters, Karlynn Gustafson placed 19th in 26.66, Ava Budworth was 21st in 26.69, and Miranda Gantner finished 28th in 27.01.

Ava Budworth placed seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 58.93.

UW-Stout had five runners finish in the 1500 meters, led by Jorie Anderson in 18th place in 4:55.27. Arlie Kapaun finished 25th in 4:58.58, Alexys Smith placed 27th in 5:01.07, Addie Christopherson was 28th in 5:03.48, and Cora Sadlack finished 31st in 5:06.32.

At the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite in Joliet, Ill., Claudia Lasiowski placed seventh in the 10,000 meters with a time of 36:21.70.

Kaylie Raths placed eighth in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.83.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Kaylie Raths finished ninth in 1:03.89, while Megan Liebers was 10th in 1:03.98.

Marissa Flannery placed 20th in the high jump after clearing 1.43 meters (4-8.25).

Raegan Sorensen led the Blue Devils in the pole vault with a third-place finish after clearing 4.05 meters (13-3.5). Leah Zastrow finished fourth at 3.95 meters (12-11.5), and Mack Champion was 12th at 3.55 meters (11-7.75).

Isabelle Jaenicke placed ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.18 meters (36-8.25).

Lincoln Wellsmith finished 11th in the shot put with a throw of 12.78 meters (41-11.25), while Catherine Fank placed 22nd at 11.27 meters (36-11.75).

Ava Mack placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 42.19 meters (138-5). Grace Schmidt finished 23rd at 36.58 meters (120-0), and Catherine Fank was 28th at 34.95 meters (114-8).

In the hammer throw, Ava Mack placed eighth with a mark of 51.67 meters (169-6), while Grace Schmidt finished 15th at 46.51 meters (152-7).

Raegan Sorensen placed ninth in the javelin with a throw of 38.58 meters (126-7), while Sloan Horgan finished 20th at 28.56 meters (93-8).

The Blue Devils will be back in action next week when they compete in a pair of last chance meets on Thursday, May 12. Competing in La Crosse at the UWL Final Qualifier and in Rock Island, Ill. at the Augustana Midwest Twlight Qualifier
