Blue Devils hit personal bests in win over Hamline

MENOMONIE (March 4, 2011) - Naomi DeLara (Sr, Kahului, Hawaii) won two events and Jenna Lensing (So, Little Canada, Minn) hit a pair of personal bests as UW-Stout defeated Hamline University, 182.90-180.225.

DeLara took the vault in a personal best mark of 9.60, and took the top mark on the balance beam with a score of 9.75.

Lensing set a personal best in finishing second in the all-around with a score of 36.85. Lensing was also second on the uneven bars with a personal with a 9.325.

The Blue Devils had a number of personal best throughout the lineup. Kaitlynn Christensen (Fr, Ottawa, Ill) scored a personal best on the vault (9.25), as did Colleen Seegers (Fr, Oconomowoc) with an 8.80. Christensen also had a best in placing third on the balance beam (9.30).

Heather Harmeyer (Jr, Milwaukee) set a new best in finishing third onthe bars (9.20) and Brittany DeZiel (Fr, Rogers, Minn) set a new mark to place fourth on the bars (9.00). Vanessa Zahratka (So, Lakeville, Minn) finished third on the floor exercise with an all-time college mark of 9.25.

Hamline's Lisette LaFex won the bars (9.65) and the all-around (37.025). The Pipers' Courtney Benson won the floor exercise (9.525).

Stout will host the 2011 WIAC Gymnastics Championships/NCGA West Regionals, Saturday, March 12 at 4 p.m.
