THIS WEEK IN BLUE DEVIL ATHLETICS: FEB. 23-March 1

MEN'S ICE HOCKEY

The 11th-ranked Blue Devil hockey team will host UW-Stevens Point in the 2026 WIAC Men's Ice Hockey Tournament/Commissioner's Cup (Presented by Culver's) semifinals.

Stout and the Pointers will face off in the semifinals on Saturday, Feb. 28 with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop from Fanetti Community Center.

The game will be live streamed on the WIAC Network. The WIAC will implement pay-per-view for its conference championships and tournaments on a trial basis during the 2025-26 academic year.

TRACK & FIELD

The Blue Devil Track and Field team competed at the UW-La Crosse Caged Eagle Invite. 

Leah Zastrow won the event with a vault of 4.13m. That jump extends her lead in the WIAC and Division 3 and moves her to number 8 on the D3 all-time list.

Braden Krystosek was the top collegiate finisher in the pole vault at the Caged Eagle Invite with a vault of 4.94m. That jump ranks 6th in the conference and 15th in Division 3. 

The Blue Devils will travel to Platteville, Wis. on Friday, Feb. 27 - Saturday, Feb. 28 to compete at the WIAC Championships

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Blue Devils defeated UW-River Falls 66-52 on Wednesday before falling at UW-Platteville 47-74 on Saturday.

Domanyck Schwarzenberger averaged 16 points per game, shooting 52.9% from the field, including 4 three-pointers. Against River Falls, he went 7-of-10 from the field for 19 points, and added 16 points at Platteville.

Next, Stout travels to La Crosse, Wis. on Tuesday, October 24 for a 7:05 p.m. tip-off against the Eagles in the first round of the 2026 WIAC Men's Basketball Tournament (Presented by Culver's).

GYMNASTICS

The Blue Devil gymnastics team hosted a tri-meet with Simpson College and Gustavus Adolphus College, scoring a season-high of 188.550.

Jamie Beatty placed second on the uneven bars with a 9.700 in a tri-meet with Gustavus and Simpson. She placed fifth on the balance beam with a 9.550 and in the floor exercise with a 9.525.

Jessica Qualich won the vault for the fifth time this season. In a home tri-meet with Simpson and Gustavus Adolphus, she scored a 9.725 to win.

The Blue Devils will travel to Oshkosh on February 27 for a dual meet with the Titans at 6 p.m.

SOFTBALL

The Blue Devil softball team split a doubleheader with the College of St. Benedict on Saturday, winning 5-2 in game one and falling 3-4 in game two.

Sarah Wilkins pitched 7.2 innings with three earned runs in the doubleheader at the College of St. Benedict. She allowed six hits and six walks while striking out six. She allowed no hits and one run in 3.1 innings to pick up the win in game one.

Elly Holden hit .500 (3-6) with a .571 on-base percentage, a 1.000 slugging percentage, and five RBI in the doubleheader at the College of St. Benedict. In game one, she went 2-3 with a three-run homer to lift Stout to a 5-2 win. In game two, she hit a two-out, two-run game-tying single in the top of the 7th. Her impressive day at the plate was even better, as she had a home run taken away for hitting the roof of the dome.

The Blue Devils will travel to Rochester, Minn., on February 28-March 1 for four games this weekend. Stout will play St. Catherine and Carleton College on Saturday, February 28, and will battle Luther College and Buena Vista on Sunday, March 1.

LACROSSE

The Blue Devils lacrosse team will return to action on Saturday, February 28, traveling to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for a 2 p.m. contest against the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
