MENOMONIE – The UW-Stout gymnastics team posted its highest team score of the season, rolling to a 187.150–181.350 victory over Hamline Friday night in front of a large crowd at Johnson Fieldhouse.
The Blue Devils were strong across all four events, winning all four while placing multiple gymnasts atop the individual standings.
UW-Stout opened the meet with a solid vault rotation, scoring a 47.800 to take an early lead. Jessica Qualich led the way with a meet-best 9.700 to win the event, while Kadyn Swank followed closely with a 9.625. Jaidyn Carroll and Maggie Ryan each added scores of 9.525, and Reesi Williams contributed a 9.425.
On uneven bars, UW-Stout totaled a 44.325, highlighted by a standout routine from Jamie Beatty, who captured first place with a 9.775. Maggie Ryan added an 8.925, Caroline DiMarco scored an 8.575, and Cora Cardellino chipped in an 8.550 to keep the Blue Devils in front at the midway point.
The Blue Devils extended their lead on balance beam, posting a 47.025. Reesi Williams delivered one of the top performances of the night with a 9.575 to place second overall, while Carroll and Beatty each scored 9.475. Kendra Henige added a 9.300, and Julia Rhoades recorded a 9.200 as UW-Stout maintained its momentum.
UW-Stout closed the meet in dominant fashion on floor exercise, recording its highest event score of the night at 48.000. Beatty once again led the field, winning the event with a 9.725. Sarah Lutz followed closely with a 9.700, Henige posted a 9.600, and Anna Mielke earned a 9.550. Jessica Qualich added a 9.425 as the Blue Devils sealed the victory.
UW-Stout will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 6 when they travel to Eau Claire, Wis. for a dual meet with the Blugolds.
