LINCOLN, Neb. - The UW-Stout gymnastics team competed at the Ameritas Master's Classic hosted by the University of Nebraska at the Bob Devaney Sports Center, also featuring the University of Missouri, and UW-La Crosse The Blue Devils posted a team score of 184.675, finishing fourth in the four-team meet.
UW-Stout opened the meet on balance beam, totaling a 46.850 as a team.
Jamie Beatty highlighted the rotation with a 9.725, tying for 11th overall.
Cassidy Lennard followed with a strong 9.625, while
Cora Cardellino added a 9.550.
Stout was next up on the floor exercise with a 47.300, its highest event score of the day.
Jessica Qualich led the way with a 9.650, tying for 13th overall, while
Sarah Lutz recorded a 9.575.
Kendra Henige and
Kaylie Kassing each posted 9.450 performances.
Next on vault, Stout had a team score of 46.775.
Jessica Qualich led the Blue Devils with a 9.700, tying for 12th overall among a deep vault field that included multiple nationally ranked gymnasts.
Holly Carter followed closely with a 9.475, while
Jaidyn Carroll added a 9.450.
UW-Stout closed the meet on uneven bars, UW-Stout scored 43.750. Senior
Sarah Lutz delivered the team's top routine with a 9.675, which placed 11th overall.
Kendra Henige and
Cora Cardellino each posted matching scores of 8.975 to round out the counting routines.
Missouri won the meet with a 197.275, followed by Nebraska (194.600) and UW-La Crosse (192.075).
UW-Stout will be off next weekend and will return on action on Friday, Jan 23 when they travel to Winona, Minn. for a dual meet with Winona State.
