JANESVILLE – The UW-Stout men's golf team delivered an impressive performance at the Culver's Edgewood Fall Invitational, held at Glen Erin Golf Club on August 29-30, finishing second overall with a two-day total of 576 (+8) on the par-71, 6849-yard course.
Leading the charge for the Blue Devils was Ayrton Longe, who tied for third place individually with a score of 140 (-2), carding a 68 in the first round and a 72 in the second. Longe's consistent play set the tone for the team's strong showing. Close behind, Casey Peters and Tucker Johnson both finished tied for seventh with scores of 144 (+2). Peters posted a 74 in the first round and a team-best 70 in the second, while Johnson matched that 70 in the second round after a 74 on day one.
Andrew Bauer and Owen Kuepper each contributed to the team's success, tying for 12th with scores of 147 (+5). Bauer shot a 74 followed by a 73, while Kuepper recorded a 71 in the first round and a 76 in the second. Cameron Lipinski and Garret Sigl both tied for 20th with scores of 149 (+7), rounding out a balanced effort for the squad.
The Blue Devils' primary team posted rounds of 287 and 289, finishing just 12 strokes behind the University of Dubuque, which won the tournament with a 564 (-4). UW-Stout's 'B' team also performed admirably, placing fourth overall with a total of 595 (+27), highlighted by strong contributions from Johnson, Sigl, and Nick Buckman, who tied for 25th with a 150 (+8).
UW-Stout will look to carry this momentum into their next event when they travel to Aurora, Ill on Sept. 2 when they compete at the AU DoubleGun Invite at the Aurora Country Club
